it's been a minute, to say the least.  i decided to submerge out of documenting hibernation today, for no particular reason other than due to intense focus in the last couple of days i have caught up somewhat on the editing cue and i thought hey, i could probably blog today.  i miss it.  a lot.  i love posting on insta and facebook, but i miss the writing.  i miss the task and art of compiling my favorite images of a session and wedding that likely will never be shared at length.  i miss the story telling.

this month has been full of goodies, to say the least.  between families and engagements - this fall season has been overflowing with love and life and lots and lots and lots of shooting.  i feel tired, but fortunate.  a little stressed, but overjoyed.  a little all over the place with emotions, i suppose - but never more certain i am doing what i am supposed to be doing.

and now, after that little recap.

marissa + austin came to me through a fellow photog, who was unable to photograph their wedding next year due to conflicting dates [ yay, for networks ya'll! ].  after talking with marissa, planning their engagement shoot together and spending a couple hours of evening with them in early october, i couldn't have felt more like we were the perfect fit.

they are college sweethearts [ that's a thing, right? ] who met at their frosh year meet and mingle thing.  the counselor // leader joked - "you never know, you could be meeting your future spouse tonight!"  little did they know, they totes did!

marissa is smiley and sweet.  austin is an easy talker and has a goofiness about him that makes marissa melt, i could see.  he treated her like a queen and even drove up from indiana on a monday work night for the session [ holy dedication! ]

i am so thrilled to have crossed paths with these two - and look very forward to having their cute faces in front of my camera next july.

thanks, you guys!
